CURRENT: Theatre and Film-making project supported by Lambeth ELEVATE

Working with partners Iconic Steps and Coin Street we are running weekly drama and theatre-making workshops where we devise and develop our own material, written and performed by the young people in the group. This takes place every Friday 5-6.30pm at Chandler Community Hall, 15 Lambeth Walk, SE116DU.

The content will be turned into a film (or films) with the help of experienced film-makers Iconic Steps in an intensive week-long film-making course in February half-term. The young people can take part in the whole process, or select the part(s) that interests them the most; developing material/content, acting, filming, editing.

The young leaders from Coin Street’s Youth Forum will project manage and support with recruitment and ideas along the way.
Chandler Hall is a Covid-19 secure venue and the activity has been thoroughly risk assessed. We are observing social distancing and regular sanitising of surfaces as well as thorough cleaning will be carried out. Hand sanitiser and QR code for Track and Trace are available at the hall. We will respond to Government guidelines and therefore some sessions may be on Zoom.

ELEVATE’s vision is for a future where everyone can benefit from a rich, dynamic and diverse cultural environment.

This project is supported by ELEVATE, Lambeth’s mission to open up the creative and cultural sector to every young person in the borough.
